I'm missing this add-on with 2.3! Any plans to still update this? I agree, it's still better then the build in 2.3 ft.

OK, I got curious before just ditching the addon and found it seems simple enough to get it working again. Barely tested, YMMV, but for anyone interested, here you go.
For reference, XenForo ditched jQuery, and this addon's widget needs it, so we need to load in jQuery for it (short of rewriting this addon's javascript code to not use jQuery). And there are some changes the XF devs made to FontAwesome embeds that necessitate changes.
Edit the template "FTSlider_widget_block", find this:
Add this line after it:
Edit the template "FTSlider_js", replace both instances of:
with:
And replace both instances of:
with:
Edit the template "FTSlider_list_macros", and replace:
with:
It seems to be working now, though I've only partially tested it. Again, YMMV.
